 By-election celebrity lookalikes
« Thread Started on Sept 5, 2008, 7:14pm »

Everybody has different reasons for voting the way they do in local elections. In order to help you make the important decision without having to read boring candidate backgrounds and fiscal policies, I've put pictures of the 4 main contenders into the celebrity lookalike tool at myheritage.com and posted the outcome below.
Now you can decide by finding your favourite celeb from the pictures below and vote accordingly...
Here we go (ordered by current rank on the front page poll):

Peter Grant, SNP

It's a fine start for Mr. Grant with a solid musical lookalike selection and a bonus Steve Martin at 66% lookalikeness. In order to make the most of this for PR reasons, I'd recommend he gets himself a quiff as soon as he can.

Harry Wills, Lib Dems

Some classic lookalikes for Mr. Wills - with Ernest Borgnine of Airwolf and Dirty Dozen fame coming in at a hefty 70% lookalikeyness, Tutu adding credibility and Sellers hinting at comedy genius. Add in Leonardo DiCaprio for the ladies and Harry's almost the perfectly balanced lookeylikey politician.

Lindsay Roy, Labour
[image]
I had to look up John Boorman - he's a British filmmaker who worked on Deliverance and Excalibur amongst others. I'm not sure if crisp merchant Lineker adds much weight to Labour's new boy but you've got to be happy with original "Highlander" Christopher Lambert and Han Solo as your lookeylikees. Unfortunately for Mr. Roy though, Richard Nixon of watergate fame then sneaks in and smears political espionage all over the collage....

Maurice Golden, Conservatives

Well. Those pretty much just speak for themselves. Shame about the Christopher Walken picture really, but him and Gary Oldman are pretty cool lookalikeys...moving on....

So there you go, Sedaka fan? vote SNP. Prefer N'Sync? vote Conservative. don't forget to vote in the poll on the front page ( http://www.glenrothesspoon.com/ ) so we can follow the effects of this exciting new decision making aid. Here's the lookalike link if you want to try it yourself: http://www.myheritage.com/celebrity-collage

in the interests of fairness and equality, and to give St. Drostan some more nightmares :D, I've done the same for the SSP and UKIP candidates too, I'd hate to have them using 'not having a lookalike section on glenrothes spoon' as an excuse for not winning...
Here's the Scottish Socialist Party's Morag Balfour:

after a bit of googling, we have: an American economist, an actor associated with hamsters, an assassinated Swedish politician, a Burmese incarcerated prime minister elect and nobel prize winner, and the actress who was naked and blue in the x-men films.

and this is UKIP's Kris Seunarine:

Kris's lookalikes include Colin Farrell - I think I've only seen him in that phone booth film which was ok I suppose, a hobbit, Metallica's lead guitar player, a Venezuelan model and actress, and early adopter of self promotion through sex-tape - Rob Lowe.

Here's a video of Kris playing the guitar:

:) potential Labour campaign slogan: "1.21 gigawatts? 1.21 gigawatts? Great Scott! "
that would get my vote. he'd need a white lab coat too though.
