Yes, just been for a look, you can't get too close, the road over the bridge is closed at glenwood and leslie roundabouts, and leslie access is also blocked from leslie roundabout. The closest we could get was the trees at the bottom of roxburgh road, you can see the fire ladder extended and the flames in all the windows. Looks like a total loss unless they can save the frame. Sad, another piece of local history disappears.

Such a shame! I hope it can be saved as its a beautiful building. I remembering discovering it as a kid when exploring the town park whilst on a walk to Leslie.

Having seen the fire, I was surprised this morning when i drove across the bridge to see so much of the building looking ok. I was expecting to see a black pile of rubble. My first thought was it is an insurance job, but I doubt it as they had already completed so much work and the first phase was almost ready for selling. Apparently they are still hoping that a complete restoration will be possible.
