Most forums have a thread for introducing yourself so go ahead and and join the cliche! My name is Ross and I live in mighty Markinch, possibly Glenrothes later this year if all goes to plan. I am 22 and work at the call centre in Markinch (not on the phones though I'm in charge of IT). Yes I live and work on the same street which is not all good ah'll tell thee. a medium sized computer company in Cupar where I build and repair computers, setup and maintain company networks and do a bit of sales. Its great because I'm always out and about in my van. I love eating crisps and watching cartoons. Well I'm no good at introductions so check out my website www.cannotfindserver.co.uk (not safe for work) and give me a shout in the Guest Book!

Im Mike, im 22 and I currently live in Edinburgh. I am at university studying for an MA in Town Planning. Glenrothes will always be home to me, I grew up and lived there most of my life. I went to South Parks Primary School and Glenrothes High School. I come home from time to time to see family when I get some time off. I designed and built the Glenrothes Online website, this can be viewed at www.glenrothesonline.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk for anyone who hasn't yet seen it. I created the site because I got annoyed at how virtually every other town in Scotland had its own information website, except Glenrothes. I also had some cool pics of the town from past uni projects. I have to say I like Glenrothes Spoon. Its nice to have a site like this one as the younger people can get out their thoughts on the town and chat about them. We all know Glenrothes has its ups and downs. But in many cases I think the town makes the best of what limited facilities and shopping it has. It gets alot of unnecessary slating, and I have to say of all the new towns in Scotland Glenrothes is actually good (not kicking Cumbernauld when its down... : . It would be a great place to live if it had the same standard of leisure and night life facilities Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy have.

Hello, I'm Mark, and I made the Glenrothes Spoon site way back in 2005. I'm a bit knackered at the moment cos I just started a new job which I already hate! edit: I just started a newer job, which is much better! yay! , (I'm just back from travelling round Europe) but I'm also an alleged "expert" in beasts of Balbirnie , a and the keyboard player in a band called Muddy Face.I made this site cos I had some time on my hands when I got back, and realised that besides the Gazette, there was nothing online where you could just go and discuss stuff in Glenrothes. (and also because I wanted to know what the hell was going on with the speed bumps in Thornton, but that's a different story ) Anyway, the spoon's already made a bit of a difference, and I'm hoping it'll continue to do so. I'm also working on an advertising forum in which companies that want to advertise can pay a donation to the Glenrothes Spoon party fund, to which all the registered members and their friends will be invited once we get enough cash. Could be a while, but it just might work! Anyway, thanks for visiting, and go sign that Fife Institute petition) will ye? ta.

You should probably pin this topic, Ross, you n00b.

Don't recognise the names Craig Dewar or Gary Brown, sorry.
I got the job through pure luck. My first job in London was as a runner for a special effects house who dealt with music videos and commercials... the money wasn't good enough (had to sell my PS2 so I could buy a pair of trainers and pay my rent!) and the job of making tea and coffee and picking up food orders for pompus pricks who call themselves directors and celebrities... it wasn't worth it... tho, I say that now, I'd do it again for the experience. A job came up in a transmission company in Camden and I moved there. The timing was just right as Turner Entertainment decided to broadcast their own channels rather than contract them out to an outside party... and I moved to Turner...
It's a great job. I am in control of up to 6 channels at a time (not all of them in English mind you), but it's fun all the same. The people I work with are all mentalists and we all have a great laugh.
