Most of the pics I have are posted on my website on the different pic pages... I mite eventually put all the old pics on their own page...? Ive provided various links below. www.glenrothesonline.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/toppage3.htmwww.glenrothesonline.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/interest.htmIf u are interested in looking at more pics then u mite want to go and see the Glenrothes Picture Archives, theyre currently based at the Haigs Business Park in Markinch (next to the train station). If u contact Andrew Dowsey u can make an appointment to go see them. They have a HUGE collection from the Glenrothes Development Corporation days. Has there been any brochures details for the Tesco development like the LIvingston extension? No, theres nothing... something like that mite be useful. Whats annoying me is that the council hasnt recieved a FULL planning application from the developer yet. So there arent even any plans to see what it would look like. Itll probably be another crappy shed with a big glass front and large round 24 Hour signs stuck on all sides of the building. Itll look crap, and if Tesco get their way the town centre will look like a "sea of cars" with a coupla buildings, like islands, plonked in the middle. I REALLY dont think Glenrothes needs a Tesco's, we have 4 food stores as it is. Co-op, Morrison's, Aldi and Lidl. Do we really need another...? I want to see a Debenhams or a Primark move in if a big store was to take over the Co-op dept store. Then better retailers would move in. I would also look to get the bowling alley to relocate, and build a leisure complex in the centre with the bowling alley and a new pub/bar on the ground floor and a multiplex cinema above it (where Clydesdale bank is now). Id demolish the old bowling alley, and the Coop dept store and build a massive 2 storey Department store with a multi-storey car park built on to the side. Id make the roof of Lyon Square glass like it was when they 1st built it and rebuild the water fountain they used to have there. Id get rid of all the horrible looking grey concrete council offices and replace them with mixed use offices with cafes and bars on the ground floor. Id fix St Columba's Church (believe it or not it looked well smart when it was first built) and i'd build some wee shops round it like there use to be before Glenwood was built, and id build the new CISWO and YMCA there to tie in with the wee shops development.

Yeah I agree with you a Debenhams would be an excellent anchor store for the Town Centre.

I saw the Master plans for Livingston the other day and they have a glass roofed winter garden and a massive mall extension planned with 2 new anchors. They also aim to build housing and a new hotel which would face onto the boulevard and bound the outside of the new multi-storey carparks hiding them from public view, how cool would that be?

Phones 4 U is opening next to Acorn Pets Really? I think they must be the worst phone shop ever as they are so pushy, they sit you down and next thing you know they have the paper work out ready for you to buy something. And a strange place to put it too.
