Hi there. Firstly, let me introduce myself. My name is Stuart Campbell and I am the Estates Manager for Solar Leisure LTD. Whilst Solar Leisure is based in Liverpool, we have a rapid expansion plan to be executed over the next 4 years. This will involve new sites at Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy. We see this primarily as a 'gap in the market' oppurtunity for ourselves but more than that, a great investment in the local economy - YOUR ECONOMY. Since joining the company in October 2006, I have worked closely with our Managing Director, Alan Jessop and our Development Manager, Roy Holdsworth who assure me that this is a much welcomed venture in Glenrothes. Whilst our intention was to incorporate a bingo at the centre, this plan has since been withdrawn and we will now focus on our 25 lane bowling centre. I can confirm building work will begin with our main contractor AAH Developments (Merseyside) LTD on 20th August 2007. The centre will be open in time for Christmas 2007. PROPOSED 24 LAND BOWLING CENTRE USING AMF TECHNOLOGY Best wishes, Stuart Campbell. Estates Manager, Solar Ventures

the photoshopping did look a bit dodgy for a project due for completion in 6 months... anyway, I made up an advert for them because I was bored: I'd go!

Sounds like a lot of cr*p to me like. We would have heard a fair amount about it even in the planning stages. Bob

Well it's been long enough now!! As you are now well aware, this post was indeed an experiment. After conducting months of research in and around the Glenrothes area, we decided it may be a good idea to get the opinions of members of a local web forum such as this.
I would stress that the research we have carried out is not pointless abd has helped us in our decision to approach Fife Council in the coming weeks to obtain planning permission for such a facility.
Solar Leisure operate 3 Tenpin Bowling centres and 4 Bingo clubs in and around the Merseyside area, all of which are new builds in the last 3 years and very successful indeed. We are sure we could bring Glenrothes a welcome addition to it's current leisure portfolio.
We would be keen to hear your opinions and full plans will be submitted as soon as possible. Planning applications can be viewed by contacting Fife Council.
